This area is a perfect opportunity to use the Random Mine Encounter Table, because it is empty.

Dungeon23 Room 96 (The Mines/Tunnel 2)

 The source of the bright torch light is 4 Azer (AC 2 HD 2+1 MMII pg. 12) They are searching the remnants of a rock crusher in the corner of the tunnel. The Leader of the Azer has 3+2 HD and is wearing an electrum chest piece worth 2000sp.

Dungeon23 Room 95 (The Mines/Tunnel 1)

 In this area of tunnel there is a strong smell of burning brimstone, but mysteriously no smoke. There is what appears to be bright torch light shining from a branch tunnel on the left side of the tunnel.

 This area of the tunnel is empty however the area up is brightly lit for some strange reason.

Dungeon23 Room 93 (The Mines/Tunnel 1)

 Along the right side of the tunnel is a shallow pool of water. The pool provides cover for a nest of 14 huge centipedes (AC 9 1 h.p. MMII pg.24) Lying in the pool, mostly covered in mud is a Silver Chainmail glove worth 2000sp.

Dungeon23 Room 92 (The Mines)

 In the middle of the short tunnel connecting tunnel 1 & 2 is a small room. Among the worthless garbage in here is a Coffer Corpse (AC 8 HD 2 FF pg. 19) The Corpse is of a former Azer. It wears a copper and brass head dress worth 1500 cp.

Dungeon23 Room 91 (The Mines/Tunnel 2)

 Crouched in various positions in an alcove on this section of tunnel are 10 Mongrelmen (AC 5 HD 1-4 MMII pg. 92).

Yes I can see that their Alignment is Lawful Neutral, however the text is unclear as to what laws they follow...

Dungeon23 Room 90 (THe Mines/Tunnel 1)

 Item of note, the mine cart rails split and rejoin here, just in front of a branch tunnel to the left. (Leading to tunnel 2) From within the branch tunnel can be heard strange grunting noises and dim lights can be seen.

 Damp, dripping, down right moist. This section of the mine tunnel is empty but very moist.

 About 150' down tunnel 2 is pile of debris and mine tailings, in which is hiding 4 Giant Centipedes (AC 9 HD 1/4 MM pg. 14)

Dungeon23 Room 86 (The Mines)

This area has a small collapsed mine elevator that equates to a 10' spiked pit trap. Just to the right of this small room is the entrance to the Gem Pipe mine. It has been mined out of all it's precious stone so that all that is left is a 500' deep hole.

Dungeon23 Room 85 (The Mines)

 Just to the left of Tunnel 1 is the entrance to Tunnel #2. There are the carved cart track in the floor that run off into the darkness. Just to the left of the entrance is a large pile of debris the DM can use this opportunity to roll on the Random Mine Table.

 Partially sticking out from a pile a mine tailings and broken wood is a rotted leather satchel containing 4 small sacks each holding 500sp.

Dungeon23 Room 82 (The Mines/Foundry)

 This is the remains of of a mine elevator. The shaft goes down about 10ft before ending in a dangerous jumble of broken stone and iron beams that act a spiked bottomed pit trap.

 Across the floor from the other 2 smelting furnaces is a great big smelting furnace. A clever DM would have one of spiders hiding in there... The furnace is empty?

This is second small smelting furnace. There is nothing of value here. If the DM feels like he can throw nest of giant centipedes or fire beetles, after all spiders gotta eat.

 Off the right side of the main foundry is a smelting furnace. The furnace itself is empty, however behind the furnace in a pile of rotted leather is a pouch with 3 gilded and framed jewels. Roll for Value of Jewels on DMG pg.26.

Dungeon23 Room 78 (The MInes/The Foundry)

 This area is the Foundry main area. The chimneys in the roof are marked by the four dotted line circles. Living in one of the chimneys are 2 Huge Spiders (AC 6 HD 2+2 pg. 90 MM) There are mine carts rails carved into the stone floor on either side of the room.

Dungeon23 Room 77 (The Mines)

 Up until now I had been using the Dungeon Random Monster Table I on pg. 175 in the DMG. Now the majority of my characters are now Level 2, I will switch the Monster Random Encounter Tables Level II pg. 133 from the 1983 Monster Manual II. This includes monsters from the 1981 Fiend Folio.
 
I have also put together a Random Table for any area in the Mines that rolled up empty.

 This room is currently being searched by the leaders of the multi-monster raiding party. 7 Gnolls (MM pg. 46 HD 2) This room also marks the end of my use of the Dungeon Random Monster Tables; Monster Level 1 pg. 175 of the DMG. My party of 1st lvl PCs is now 2nd lvl. I will be switching to the Monster Random Encounter table from pg. 133 of the MMII.

 This room is empty. It is a small shrine the BAS reliefs on the walls depict scenes of the Dwarven God of Gems. Supposed founder of the 7 clans.

 This is the entrance hall for this part of the complex. The only thing keeping the smell down to non-retch levels is that both doors to the outside courtyard are standing open. There is nothing of interest here.

Dungeon23 Room 68 (The Trade Gate)

 The goblins haven't been thru here yet. How can you tell? There are 13 ROUS's in here! (Giant Rat MM pg.81 1-4 h.p.) In a corner of the room, under a skull, is a platinum jewel encrusted pendant of the 7 Clans Mining Guild. A crossed pick and shovel on a small shield. Worth 150 pp.
